Acknowledge:
- Natural Variations: Tiles may exhibit natural characteristics including variations in colour, texture, pattern, shade, crazing, marks, blemishes, size differences, and optical hazing, which appears as a smoky or smudged effect under certain lighting on polished or semi-polished surfaces.
- Batch Differences: Sample tiles are provided as a general guide only. Since tiles are manufactured in batches, slight variations in shade and tone may occur between different batches. Nominal sizes listed on quotes and invoices are approximate, and exact sizing may vary from batch to batch. Over time, tile ranges have become more comprehensive, offering a wider variety of sizes and finishes. As a result, shade variation may occur between different formats within the same range.
- Pattern & Colour Display: Tile patterns are random and may not match the images shown exactly. Colours may also vary slightly depending on screen or device settings.
- Natural Stone: Natural stone is quarried globally and will vary in colour, veining, and pattern. No two natural stone tiles are identical, and variations are to be expected. As such, we do not accept responsibility for natural differences beyond our control.
- Before Installation: Check the actual sizes of different items before tiling, if you want to lay the tiles aligned. If you encounter any defects while laying tiles, cease work immediately and promptly contact us for clarification. Once tiles are laid, we will not consider any claims on visible defects, share/size variations, ect

Ceramic Tile Installation Guide
Sealing: Not Required.
Proper installation is essential to achieve a neat and long-lasting finish. Issues can arise from unsuitable substrates, poor site conditions, unlicensed tilers, or incompatible materials. All installations must comply with the Australian Building Code and relevant industry standards.
For the best results and to avoid common issues, we strongly recommend hiring a professional installer. While we take customer requirements seriously, we do not participate in the installation process and cannot control how or where the tiles are used.
Before Installation:
- Check the actual colour, size, design, and batch of all tiles before starting.
- Organise the final layout in advance, especially for tiles with high variation.
- Ceramic tiles are ideal for wall applications only. Ensure tiles are suitable for the intended space.
- Once tiles are laid, we cannot accept claims for visible defects, shade or size variations, or other issues.
Key Points for Installation Success
- Confirm that site conditions, including moisture levels, are appropriate.
- If you encounter any defects, stop work immediately and contact us for support.
- Follow manufacturer guidelines and Australian standards for adhesives, grouts, and spacers
- Keep leftover tiles and batch labels for future reference in case you need more tiles.

Q: What is a ceramic tile?
A: Ceramic tiles are made from natural clay, shaped, glazed, and fired at high temperatures. They’re durable, water-resistant, and ideal for walls and light-traffic floors, especially in kitchens and bathrooms.
Q: What are popular ceramic tile designs?
A: Subway tiles, marble-look styles, encaustic patterns, and neutral tones are popular. Gloss white ceramic tiles are timeless, while soft matt finishes and stone-look ceramics suit modern and rustic homes.
Q: Are gloss or matt ceramic tiles better?
A: Gloss ceramic tiles are smooth, shiny, and easy to clean—great for splashbacks and small spaces. Matt tiles offer a soft, natural look and are better at hiding marks, making them ideal for low-maintenance surfaces.
Q: Are ceramic tiles water-resistant?
A: Yes, glazed ceramic tiles are highly water-resistant, which makes them perfect for wet areas like bathrooms, laundries, and kitchen splashbacks. Proper grouting and sealing of edges are still important.
Q: Are ceramic tiles easy to clean?
A: Yes, ceramic tiles are very low-maintenance. Use a damp cloth and mild detergent to keep them clean. Gloss finishes are especially easy to wipe, while matt tiles may need light brushing to remove dirt.
Q: Can I order a tile sample before purchasing?
A: Yes! We highly recommend ordering a sample before placing a full order. It helps you see the tile’s true colour, texture, and finish in your space and lighting conditions. And at Cheapestiles we offer them for free! (Delivery charges are included)
Q: Are the tiles in stock and ready to ship?
A: Stock levels can vary. Most popular tiles are kept in ready-to-ship quantities. If you're after a specific product, please contact us to confirm stock availability before placing a large order.
Q: How do I calculate how many tiles I need?
A: Measure the length and width of the area you plan to tile to calculate the square metres. Add an extra 10–15% to account for cuts, breakages, and future replacements. At Cheapestiles we have a tile calculator to help you estimate based on your plans.
Q: What is a batch or shade number, and why does it matter?
A: All tiles are produced in batches, each with a unique batch or shade number. Colour and finish may slightly vary between batches. If you're ordering additional tiles to match a previous purchase, contact us with your original batch number so we can check if the same shade is still available.
Q: Do you offer pickup or home delivery?
A: Yes, at Cheapestiles we offer both! You can choose to pick up your order from our warehouse in Sydney or opt for home delivery.
Q: How long does delivery take?
A: For metro areas, delivery typically takes 3–5 business days. For interstate or regional locations, please allow 10–14 business days. Delivery times may vary depending on the location and order size.
Q: What tiles are best for laundry floors?
A: Porcelain tiles are ideal for laundry floors due to their durability, water resistance, and slip resistance. Choose a tile with a matt or textured finish to help prevent slips in wet conditions.
Q: Can I use wall tiles in the laundry?
A: Yes, ceramic wall tiles are perfect for laundries. They're easy to wipe clean and protect walls from splashes around sinks or benchtops. Gloss tiles can brighten small spaces, while matt finishes offer a softer look.
Q: Are laundry tiles water-resistant?
A: Yes, both ceramic and porcelain tiles are highly water-resistant, making them perfect for wet areas like laundries. Proper grouting and sealing help prevent water from seeping into underlying surfaces.
Q: What size tiles are suitable for laundries?
A: Common floor sizes like 300x300mm or 600x600mm work well. For walls or splashbacks, 75x150mm subway tiles or 300x600mm are popular. Larger tiles reduce grout lines and give a cleaner finish.
Q: Are laundry tile splashbacks necessary?
A: While not essential, splashbacks help protect walls from water damage, especially around sinks. Gloss ceramic tiles or mosaics are a practical and stylish solution for laundry splash zones.
