The new Luce Slabs utilize light as a design tool, enriching special environments and creating magical spaces. These slabs are a stunning centrepiece for any design concept, especially when enhanced with backlighting technology, offering seven different graphics and colours in marble and onyx effects. Made with high-quality clays and feldspars, the translucid body of Luce transforms the design from a plain tile to a soft natural marble when illuminated.
With a remarkable 6mm thickness, it strikes the perfect balance between strength and manageability, offering high load resistance typical of porcelain tiles while maintaining a lower weight per square meter. This combination ensures both durability and ease of handling, making it an ideal choice for your design projects.
Note: Actual product colour may vary to the displayed image.
Backlighting Technology
The translucid body of Luce is crafted with exceptional purity, featuring high-quality clays and feldspars. Its pure white composition allows for advanced ink development compared to other products. Luce undergoes a lower kiln cycle and temperature than conventional porcelain, resulting in a softer glow when illuminated. So when set up with light behind, this special body transforms the design from a plain tile into a semblance of soft, natural marble, creating a truly remarkable aesthetic.

Finish: Polished
Ideal for lounge floors and walls, as well as wall applications in bathrooms, splashback kitchens, and laundries. It is not recommended for bathroom floors or any wet indoor or outdoor flooring.

Acknowledge:
- Natural Variations: Tiles may exhibit natural characteristics including variations in colour, texture, pattern, shade, crazing, marks, blemishes, size differences, and optical hazing, which appears as a smoky or smudged effect under certain lighting on polished or semi-polished surfaces.
- Batch Differences: Sample tiles are provided as a general guide only. Since tiles are manufactured in batches, slight variations in shade and tone may occur between different batches. Nominal sizes listed on quotes and invoices are approximate, and exact sizing may vary from batch to batch. Over time, tile ranges have become more comprehensive, offering a wider variety of sizes and finishes. As a result, shade variation may occur between different formats within the same range.
- Pattern & Colour Display: Tile patterns are random and may not match the images shown exactly. Colours may also vary slightly depending on screen or device settings.
- Natural Stone: Natural stone is quarried globally and will vary in colour, veining, and pattern. No two natural stone tiles are identical, and variations are to be expected. As such, we do not accept responsibility for natural differences beyond our control.
- Before Installation: Check the actual sizes of different items before tiling, if you want to lay the tiles aligned. If you encounter any defects while laying tiles, cease work immediately and promptly contact us for clarification. Once tiles are laid, we will not consider any claims on visible defects, share/size variations, ect

Porcelain Tile Installation Guide
Sealing: Not Required.
Proper installation is crucial for achieving a durable and long-lasting finish. Installation issues often arise from unsuitable substrates, improper site conditions, unlicensed tilers, or incompatible materials. All installations must be compatible with the tiles and carried out in accordance with the Australian Building Code and relevant industry standards.
For the best results and to avoid issues, we strongly recommend hiring a professional installer. While we take customer requirements seriously, we do not participate in the installation process and cannot control how or where the tiles are used.
Before Installation:
- Check the actual colour, size, design, and batch of all tiles before starting.
- Organise the final layout in advance, especially for tiles with high variation.
- Ensure all materials are suitable for the intended space. If unsure, do not proceed with installation and contact us for professional guidance.
- Once tiles are laid, we cannot accept claims for visible defects, shade or size variations, or other issues.
Key Points for Installation Success
- Confirm that site conditions, including moisture levels, are appropriate.
- If you encounter any defects, stop work immediately and contact us for support.
- Follow manufacturer guidelines and Australian standards for adhesives, grouts, and spacers.
- Keep leftover tiles and batch labels for future reference in case you need more tiles.
Porcelain Tile Care & Maintenance Guide
Porcelain tiles are an excellent choice when you want a durable, low-maintenance surface. Here are some tips for the care and maintenance of porcelain tiles:
- Porcelain tiles are easy to install on walls or floors, indoors or outdoors, and require no sealing, just regular cleaning with a pH-neutral cleaner.
- Keep Clean: Sweep or vacuum often, wipe spills promptly, and clean with warm water and mild soap.
- Grout Care: Clean grout gently with a soft brush and mild solution. Test coloured grout cleaners in a small area first. Call a tiler or cleaner for heavily stained grout or major problems.
- Prevent Scratches: Avoid scratches by using furniture pads. Use mats or rugs in busy zones and lift furniture instead of dragging.

Q: Where can large tiles be used?
A: Large tiles from Cheapestiles are ideal for floors and walls in bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms, and even outdoor areas. They create a spacious, sleek finish with fewer grout lines.
Q: What are the benefits of using large tiles?
A: Large tiles minimise grout lines, making rooms feel more open and easier to clean. Cheapestiles recommends them for modern spaces, especially where a continuous or luxurious finish is desired.
Q: Are large tiles suitable for small rooms?
A: Yes. When installed correctly, large tiles from Cheapestiles can make small rooms feel more spacious by reducing grout joints and creating visual continuity.
Q: Are large tiles more expensive?
A: While large tiles may cost more per piece, they can be cost-effective due to quicker installation and fewer grout materials. Cheapestiles offers affordable large tile options across all looks.
Q: What are some popular large tile styles?
A: Best-sellers at Cheapestiles include marble-look 600x1200mm tiles, travertine-look in 600x600mm, and terrazzo tiles in oversized formats—popular for modern bathrooms and open-plan floors.
Q: Are marble tiles expensive compared to other materials?
A: Yes, marble tiles are typically more expensive than ceramic or porcelain due to their natural beauty, unique veining, and the cost of quarrying. However, they add lasting value and luxury to any space.
Q: What are the benefits of using marble tiles?
A: Marble tiles offer timeless elegance, natural patterns, and a cool, smooth surface ideal for floors, walls, and bathrooms. They instantly elevate a room’s look and work well in both modern and classic designs.
Q: Do marble tiles require sealing?
A: Yes. Being porous, marble must be sealed before and after installation to prevent staining, especially in wet or high-traffic areas. Regular resealing will help maintain its appearance and durability.
Q: What is better: marble tiles or marble-look tiles?
A: It depends on your needs. Real marble tiles offer natural beauty, unique veining, and luxury appeal—but they require sealing and more maintenance. Marble-look porcelain tiles are more affordable, durable, low-maintenance, and water-resistant, making them ideal for bathrooms, kitchens, and high-traffic areas.
Q: Do marble tiles stain easily?
A: Marble can stain if exposed to oils, wine, or acidic substances without sealing. Prompt cleaning and sealing are essential to protect against discolouration and preserve its natural look.
Q: What are porcelain tiles?
A: Porcelain tiles are a type of ceramic tile made from finer, denser clay and fired at higher temperatures. This makes them stronger, more durable, and less porous than standard ceramic tiles, suitable for floors and walls.
Q: What are popular porcelain tile designs?
A: Popular designs include marble-look, wood-look, stone-look, and large-format tiles. Porcelain’s versatility allows for realistic textures and patterns that suit both modern and traditional interiors.
Q: Are matt or gloss porcelain tiles better?
A: Matt porcelain tiles offer a natural, slip-resistant surface ideal for floors, especially wet areas. Glossy tiles provide a shiny finish, perfect for walls, adding brightness and style.
Q: Can porcelain tiles be used indoors and outdoors?
A: Yes, porcelain tiles are highly durable and water-resistant, making them suitable for indoor floors, walls, and outdoor patios or pool surrounds. Outdoor porcelain tiles often have textured finishes for extra grip.
Q: Are porcelain tiles easy to maintain?
A: Yes, porcelain tiles require minimal maintenance. They resist stains, water, and scratches, and can be cleaned with mild detergent and water. Their durability means they stay looking new for years.
Q: Can I order a tile sample before purchasing?
A: Yes! We highly recommend ordering a sample before placing a full order. It helps you see the tile’s true colour, texture, and finish in your space and lighting conditions. And at Cheapestiles we offer them for free! (Delivery charges are included)
Q: Are the tiles in stock and ready to ship?
A: Stock levels can vary. Most popular tiles are kept in ready-to-ship quantities. If you're after a specific product, please contact us to confirm stock availability before placing a large order.
Q: How do I calculate how many tiles I need?
A: Measure the length and width of the area you plan to tile to calculate the square metres. Add an extra 10–15% to account for cuts, breakages, and future replacements. At Cheapestiles we have a tile calculator to help you estimate based on your plans.
Q: What is a batch or shade number, and why does it matter?
A: All tiles are produced in batches, each with a unique batch or shade number. Colour and finish may slightly vary between batches. If you're ordering additional tiles to match a previous purchase, contact us with your original batch number so we can check if the same shade is still available.
Q: How long does delivery take?
A: For metro areas, delivery typically takes 3–5 business days. For interstate or regional locations, please allow 10–14 business days. Delivery times may vary depending on the location and order size.
Q: Do you offer pickup or home delivery?
